YOU’LL BE OKAY

Home becomes a constellation of memories in Jasmine Sokko’s film for NDP 2026. Familiar train journeys, greenery and a birthday gathering sit alongside her sculptural cyborg silhouette and an illuminated counterpart. These two visual registers bring the city she grew up in into contact with a speculative future. Blue and violet light, reflective surfaces and the luminous canopy give the electronic sound a physical setting, while the faces and gestures of everyday life keep its reassurance personal. The journey finds belonging in the people and places that remain within us.
