Cultural memory takes the form of a moving painting. Following Chiao Chiao Tseng, the film brings contemporary fashion into close contact with Taiwanese opera and Guan Jiang Shou performance. Recorded movement is combined with transformations made using Deforum Stable Diffusion, creating painterly spaces around the performers. Painted faces, flowing sleeves and an umbrella remain recognisable through the changing imagery.
