Love offers no dependable equation in Shen An’s 1+1=. Cast as a wandering painter, he crosses Albanian streets, monumental architecture and open mountain roads with the weight of a relationship that cannot be resolved so neatly. Wide compositions leave him small within the landscape; closer portraits bring the search back to the face. A woman appears as an imagined presence, preserving the distance between longing and encounter.
